Micropelt thin film Peltier cooler chips offer new possibilities for bio-life science applications. These applications entail extremely small cooling areas below 1 mm2 for small volume cooling and heating, e.g. PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) cyclers, and fast adaptive temperature control down to some 10 milliseconds.
